When We Try to Outrun the Dark

The way of nature isn’t instant.
It’s slow. Deliberate.
Progress that crawls — quiet, almost imperceptible.

And so are we.

The human mind, even in all its addiction and restlessness, still follows nature’s timing — God’s timing. Yet we resist it. We crave the shortcut, the instant fix. We want our healing Amazon-delivered: ordered, processed, and at our doorstep by tomorrow.

But the world keeps reminding us otherwise — through our monthly cycles, through the rhythm of the seasons, through every pause we try to rush past. Still, we take pills to silence the cycles. We stay indoors. We disconnect.

Disconnection will kill us before anything else.

It starts quietly — with the darkness.
The loneliness.
The calls we forgot to return that turn into years. The loss we thought we survived that still steals our contentment.

We stumble through the dark with our eyes closed, too afraid to look around and see where we’ve landed — too afraid to own the path we’ve taken, or the one God gave us.

But the darkness was never meant to be a place of isolation.
It was meant to be a place of change.

Change can be felt, seen, resisted, or embraced.
The darkness is always there, resting at our backs — not as a threat, but as a safe space to become. A cave to retreat to when the world is too loud, too bright, too much.

Instead, we’ve turned to our modern comforts — addiction, shopping, politics, drugs, alcohol, endless scrolling — anything to avoid the stillness where transformation actually happens. We resist our own evolution so fiercely that we dig our nails in, glue our feet to the floor, pretend we can’t hear the whisper when God nudges us forward.

Maybe the path out of the darkness isn’t escape at all.
Maybe it’s acknowledgment — reaching around and realizing how many others are here with us.

We are not alone.
The darkness was never meant to be lonely.
We’re the ones who chose the corner, shackled ourselves to the shadows, forgetting that life — and evolution — still hum quietly all around us.

Open your eyes.
The light is everywhere.
You just have to focus in.
